Evaluations
This assessment option fits any student! I respect that your child is unique and your homeschool is designed to best fit your family. Standardized testing has its place in homeschool assessment, but it’s not for every student, family, or curriculum.
This evaluation meets the CO state law for homeschool assessments in odd grades beginning in grade 3. It also works for most umbrella school evaluation or portfolio requirements.
Evaluations are a low-stress, half-hour conversation (in-person or virtual) where I talk to you and your student about this year’s progress. Once you book with me, I will send you a detailed document to help you prepare for our meeting. After our meeting, I type up a detailed narrative for your records and we digitally sign a letter documenting progress that you send to the school district where you filed your Notice of Intent to Homeschool (NOI).
As an evaluator, my responsibility is to document “adequate yearly progress to the best of the student’s ability.” I taught for over a decade and have worked with a diverse array of students. I listen to you and your child, document what’s been accomplished in your school year, and certify progress. Easy!
Learning challenges? No worries! Simply explain your unique situation and challenges before we meet so I know how to tailor my questions.
Multiple students? We can schedule a block of time that fits your schedule, and I offer a discount!
Gifted learner? I directed a charter school gifted program, so I understand the unique needs of gifted and twice-exceptional learners.
Religious curriculum? Secular only? Your curriculum choices are your choices.
Dissatisfied with your curriculum this year? Wondering if you’ve done enough? Evaluation sessions include a brief consultation, so bring your questions and concerns so we can talk them through. But rest assured, I wholeheartedly believe you are your child’s best teacher.
Other questions about the process or whether an evaluation is best for your learner? Please schedule a free 15-minute call to see if we’re a good fit.
I’m genuinely here to support you and your children!
